This is the situation my bhabhi was in when she was a child..
her mother very strict shia muslim.. dad strict sunni.. However some influence depends on which parent is the most domineering..
in my bhabhi's case it was her mum.. but growing up.. the children delved deep into the quran and religious books and decided for themselves..
Alhumdulillah all 5 of them have agreed the Shia fiqah is the right way :)
