Ivy League, angrezi swagger, ginormous English expressions, cerebral annihilation. Someone’s rather taken with me. And … all this pisses you off because you’re a ‘Pakistani’ and these traits are anathema (sorry, big word) to you. Pakistanis don’t go to Ivy Leagues? (Good to know I went to one). Pakistanis don’t speak English? Pakistanis don’t listen to Angrezi music? Pakistanis don’t reference popular culture? Pakistanis don’t watch Family Guy with religious zeal? (I’m Brian btw. No wonder we’re fighting, I’m a dog). Forgive me for quoting an Angrezi singer and a German philosopher. I’ll quote Faiz next time. Then I can be an intellectual wannabe in Urdu instead and claim inheritance to the Progressive Writers Movement. Good job dissing ‘desis’ by implying the average guppie is incapable of higher thought. Only there was no ‘annihilation’ going on - unless you mean flame wars, which I enjoy just as much as the next buffoon here - yet you seem to see it everywhere on this thread. Projection? You’re witty and intelligent, so this outburst of insecurity surprises me. It does. What you’ve said above reveals more about you than it does about me. If you feel inferior, you’re going to see superiority complexes everywhere.
Speaking of swagger. Correcting posters whose first language isn’t English isn’t common street sarcasm. It’s elitist sarcasm. Looks like everybody gets a petty kick out of shooting barbs at those ill-equipped at responding in kind. Isn’t the entire point to indulge someone who can give it right back? Right, we go sadface when that happens.
If I’ve hurt your feelings, I apologize. Seems your grievances are of a serious, intimate nature. Which is weird considering you haven’t read the thread and know little about my username.
