It's just a strange culture thing i think. My parents do it too, and so do all the people of my parents' age. Even when my mum for example is calling my dad, she says "where are you?" rather than his name lol.
Me and my hubby don't do it though, maybe cos we don't have kids :D
nah seriously, i cant imagine saying to him where are you, maybe in front of bachay id say wheres your dad, but when referring to him with other people my age, i would call him by his name, and vice versa :)
