In the WC, in Sharjah Cherry Blossom Trophy, South Africa test series.

In the WC - Taufeeq Umair kept wickets in the India match
In SA Test Series - Latif was injured in the ODI series itself and didn't play in the test series at all.

Exactly, But somehow umair316 thinks that Latif played all the games in the test Series. He made the announcment in South Africa while getting a treatment for Neck Injury in South Africa. He played in first 3 ODIs and skipped remaining because of Injury.

And your point is
Even Jimmy Maher kept wickets during WC because Gilchrist had to leave the field.

Even if he is injured, there is no reason for anyone to take advantage and be critical. He has been a very good captain so far and a very useful batsman down the order and did I mention he keeps wicket against 2 of the fastest bowlers in the world.
That is not an easy task.

You should have asked about my point before claiming that he kept in all the matches in the world cup and SA Test Series.

Anyways, My point is - He is very injury prone and gets injured very easily. In the World cup he didn't keep in a very Important match against India. Luckily, for fim, Taufeeq kept very well in his absence.
It is still okay for a wicketkeeper to get injured and sit out in a match, but it's not okay for a captain to sit out in every tournament especially when he is leading a young team and where the Vice Captain is low on confidence because of his poor form.

Rest of your comments are garbage as usual and dont deserve any comment.

Since becoming the captain, Rashid has been off the field on 2 occasions, one from the bouncer from Sami in Sharjah and 2nd one from the ferocious throw from Faisal Athar, both of them not being his fault, had there been any other keeper, same result would have occured.

Now the comments are garbage, just because you can't reply back properly doesn't make the others comments garbage.

It proves my point that he is getting old and he is not as quick as he used to be.

Yes they are garbage because you tried to accuse me of taking advantage of his situation which I fail to understand how and why. Why cant others have a diferent point of view than yours ?

mates don’t mind when i say:

boy i love reading statements/posts from Umair and Asif coz almost everytime one of these two writes/quotes something the other use to come up with the opposite … it seems they r somehow virtually bound/connected to each other …  :rotfl: :rotfl:

it’s meant to ease crossgupshup confrontations between umair and asif and not as an offense to any …

Maybe if you actually start watching the matches and not reading match reports on cricinfo then you will actually know what happend. Both of them were not his fault, any keeper would have face the same consequences.

Rashid Latif had recently retired from Test Cricket, I wonder why he did that, If he was fit enough to play.

Rashid had confirmed before the WC that he would retire from international cricket but since he saw his team in crisis, he lend the hand by being a interim captain for 1 year.

Heard that he retired from Test cricket because everyone was getting so excited over Kamran Akmal saying that he could replace Rashid Latif, so Latif wanted to show them that he wasn't waiting around for them.

Personally I think he's a great keeper and has been a great captain so far. I hope his injuries get better and that he leads Pakistan to success in England. I read an article last year about how according to his stats Latif is the best wicket keeper we've ever had. I tried looking for it but couldn't find it. I'll post it up when I do find it.

This post is not meant to antagonize anyone. I just like Latif and wanted to post my opinion (that's all it is a humble opinion).
