Can you back this statement up with a verse from the Quran, or Hadees, because I disagree with it..

Very simple…‘knowledge’ in Quran means ‘knowledge of deen’ thats all. This is the main reason that majority of Muslims are remaining backward anywhere in the world, especially in Asia, (Central Asia), Africa etc.

If they do not know how to write or read even a single language, how can they possibly follow any religion?
Not to be rude or anything, when presenting statements like these, it would be wise to provide some population characteristics & statistics of the people whom you are talking about.

Yes…they are living in slums, no permanent earnings, no education for generations and here are some who beleive that they know Arabic.

I can give you ‘characteristics & statistics’, only if you give me at least one example when in any of other threads you have agreed to proofs and simple logics.
