Indian Idol (2 )

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

u mean u can really vote as many times? but then whats the point?
i can just sit on my cell all day n vote for the person i want… is it only me who thinks this is unfair?

who knows, someone might have an automated computer script sending sms for one contestant…

p.s. does everyone know they can vote multiple times?

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

it’s not free.. paisay lagtay haiN beeRoo :rule:

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

Mr. Genius has free text messaging :D

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

everyone knows about it....mini says it all the time "apne nokia mobile se apne favorite contestants ko bar bar vote kejiye aur unhey bachaye....voting lines ab khol chuki hain etc." they even have those lucky draw voters prizes to encourage them to vote more....they have to make money too....n i don't think it's unfair...it totally depends on bharti janta how much time/money they are willin to pay for their favorites...

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

mine too:D

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

im not happy with todays result.....at all

meenal amey n karunya are very deserving conestants....they should have been in top 3....

i love Meenal's positive attitude n she will definitely go far in life!....

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

good exit again…
Meenal went off just like panna… well done

it should’ve been sandeep, anuj and meenal in the bottom three.
karunia, amey and antra should end up in top three.

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

***** spoiler alert ***

**Antara was finally voted out.. I guess she was aking for it.. Last time when she turned up in the bottom three, she almost reprimanded the audience to vote wirh their “dimagh”.. well this time the audience did and voted her out

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

pa..who were the bottom 3?

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

since only 5 are left they had a bottom two..

Sandeep and Antara .. and Antara got the boot .. :balley:

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

^Im shocked with this week's results, Sandeep and Anuj were no competition to Antra, and yet she was sent out. Sandeep should have been the one this week.

Karunya and Amey have got to be the top 2 and I think Karunya has more ability and smoothness to his talent. So he ought to win. and then star with Abhishek Bacchan in a movie asap :D

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

^ :) Karunya can do Abhishek Bachan's Bachpan [aah, the alliteration]

Its between Amey and Karunya now... if sandeep's relatives stop voting

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

beechari antara :teary3:

Janta votes Amey out!

I won’t say it’s surprising because once you leave things to such a chance it’s all a game of phone calls and SMS. Anyway, top three are Karunya, Sandeep and Anuj. A part of me now wants Anuj to win :omg:

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

my fav are Amay and Karonia....if Amay doesnt win, Karonia really should... i think hes the best so far...

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

:smack: that was bad…

even i want Anuj/Sandeep to win now :smokin:

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

awww man i hate that Anuj guy.... he cant sing... now i really want Karonia to win!

Why was Ameya Date eliminated?

Elimination of Mumbai’s ‘Indian idol’ contestant figures in Assembly
Friday March 17 2006 00:00 IST
UNI

MUMBAI: The elimination of Amey Date, the contestant in popular reality show ‘Indian idol’, figured in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly with a BJP member seeking government intervention in stopping the SMS ‘‘racket’’ during voting.

Devendra Phadanvis (BJP) charged that date has been eliminated just because he happens to be Marathi-speaking.

‘‘There seems to be a feeling that the earlier winner was a Marathi and if another Maharashtrian wins again, the show would lose its following in other parts of the country,’’ he claimed.

He said there was a lot of resentment on this development in Mumbai adding the government should step in to stop the SMS ‘‘racket’’ involved in the voting process.

Sonu Nigam, who along with co-judges Anu Malik and Farah Khan staged a walkout from ‘Indian Idol’ after prized contestant Ameya Date was eliminated, says their move was a warning against disqualifying good talent.

Sonu explains about Tuesday’s episode, 'Very honestly, as a judge on ‘Indian Idol’ I can’t afford to be particularly fond of anyone. But, yes, Ameya has a great future. He got eliminated because he didn’t sing well enough on Tuesday. That’s it.
**

'Having said that, I must say I don’t regret walking out after Ameya’s elimination. We had to ring a warning bell in the audience’s minds. Humse raha nahin gayaa. We don’t know what stand to take now. We’re confused.

‘The Sony people argue that we have to go by the audiences’ poll since that’s the format for Idol all over the world. If Anuj got more votes than Ameya, it’s not his fault. I apologised to Anuj.

'We can’t bring Ameya back. But they cannot disqualify good talent like this. In fact, rowdies at the recording got very aggressive saying things like, ‘This is Sony channel not Sonu’s channel’. We’re such foolish people. We choose and select on regional, religious and caste lines. That’s why Britishers ruled over us for 150 years.

'At least another deserving contestant, Karunya, is getting noticed. He’s one of the most talented young singers I’ve heard. As for Ameya, I remember anchoring Zee’s ‘Sa Re Ga Ma Pa’ many years ago where Ameya had come second. I support talent like Ameya because I never got similar support.

'There’s a 13-year old boy Ranjeet from Jaipur whom I’ve taken under my wing. He’s not a singer. He’s a miracle. Yeh koi aatma iske andar mein. Don’t you wish you heard Lataji sing as a child? Well, this boy will give you a glimpse into that talent. I don’t think I’ve anything to teach him.

‘There’s so much singing talent around. But no dedicated gurus. I’ve watched Ameya go from my feet, to my knees. Then he started shaking my hand when he was a chorus singer. Now he’s started touching my feet again. The guru-shishya equation shouldn’t change. To this day I touch Suresh Wadkarji and Sachin Pilgaonkar’s feet.’

Ameya himself refuses to see the defeat on ‘Indian Idol’ as anything but a challenge.

'As far as ‘Indian Idol’ is concerned I’ve come as far as destiny had to bring me. That Sonuji, Anuji and Farahji actually protested on my behalf moved me deeply. I want to apologise to them for not having lived up to their expectations.

'At the same time I feel happy to have got as far as I have. I feel I’ve received more love and attention from people than I ever dreamt I would. Sonuji has been especially supportive. I don’t know how to thank him. It’s just my bad luck that I got eliminated.

'Every day can’t be the same. And maybe on Tuesday my performance wasn’t up to the mark. I was eliminated as per the rules and regulations of ‘Indian Idol’. So I’ve no reason to complain. I know people had a lot of hopes pinned on me. I hope I can fulfil their expectations from outside ‘Indian Idol’…

'I haven’t thought of what to do now. But whatever I do will have to do with music. I owe my entire life and career to Suresh Wadkar. He’s my guru and god.

‘I want to sing in films. After I was eliminated Tuesday Anuji promised he would look out for me. Thank god I reached the Top 4 in ‘Indian Idol’. I feel I’ve gained in ways that this immediate defeat of elimination can’t take away from me. Seeing people’s reactions, my eyes my filled up with tears. I’m not the Indian Idol. But I’m the people’s favourite.’

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

i really feel bad for Amey not only because he was one of my favorites but knowing that his parents got a divorce when he was really young feel so bad for him…his family life wasn’t so good so he should’ve gotten a chance here:( . He really deserved to atleast get through to the next round.

What impressed me the most about him was that he was so mature and calmed everybody down when everything got out of control in the results show.

Re: Indian Idol (2 )

seeing how the public gives sympathy votes a lot, I wouldn't be surprised to see Anuj win. Of course some people are voting for him because he's good looking...unfortunately this is not a mr. India contest and singing well should matter.
