^ Know one Indian Muslim family (personally) and according to the wife they have to avoid anything negative about the country otherwise they'd be labelled as traitors (forgot the Hindi word). Without criticising there cant be introspection...

these are just election rhetoric to appease the masses to grab their vote. historically, whenever BJP is in power, they are under microscope, they have responsibility, they perform better than Congress. BJP doesn't need to stir up religious fervor when they already are in power. they play the religion card and stir up emotions in order to gain power.
yesterday, Modi hinted to have a better relations with Pakistan as well. remember, AB Vajpayee tried to have a better relations with Pakistan but unfortunately it couldn't materialize.
i'm sure things will be fine after the elections.

Abt 6 yrs back I was returning from india. An old muslim taxi driver said the same thing. Saab hum bhi indian hai. But we are expected to prove ouroyalty. And r constantly under suspicion.
Couldn't agree more. Without criticism there is no introspection and vice versa. The Right thinks any criticism is bad and anti country. Esp when the criticism comes from minority.

modi is no vajpayee. nor are the modi supporters mild-mannered. if modi comes to power and doesnt take off well economically, there will be plenty of the ugliness you wash off as election propaganda popping up.

well. only time will tell. i am NOT a Modi supporter but this is what i firmly believe that the life will go on as usual and as before. NO Indian Muslim will be sent to Pakistan...no war with Pakistan...
why would they do anything to destabilize the country when they have already got the power at Center?

He has no option of what you mentioned. All movements of Muslims from India to Pakistan was officially stopped withing couple of years after partition, so it is very unlikely Pakistan would allow that. As for war, there is no option unless India is willing to get attacked by nuclear weapons (that Pakistan has more than India).
So, those problem is not there. Problem is discriminating in jobs, intimidating and killing Indian Muslims and especially Kashmiri Muslims, and trying to make Pakistani life difficult by supporting anti-state elements in Pakistan (like Taliban, Baloch separatists, Separatists in Sindh, and sectarian outfits) with money and weapons.

I think the congress has already thrown in the towel. With better campaigning they could have at-least tried. With the insipid leadership of Mr RG, I think the choice has already been made by majority of the Indian voters.
Even this thread has been about Modi and not about the issues facing the country. As KKK said, let us wait and watch, but I am not as optimistic as him regarding the govt. If the economy tanks and the govt faces a slew of corruption charges, these guys would do anything to retain power. I dread those days..
