Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
Since you use a 'probably' let me use a 'must be'. Must be because people for J&K get a kick out of the dramatic happenings across the border. Or it might be out of concern about the next batch of jihadis being despatched.
Ah yes, the ramblings of people who have never even set foot in J&K.
Even if we go off your ridiculous logic, why is the "biggest democracy in the world" denying the people of J&K the right to know about the "next batch of jihadis being dispatched?"

From the International Herald Tribune now…
Officials order Pakistan cable TV stations off air in Indian-controlled part of Kashmir
SRINAGAR, India: Local authorities in the Indian-controlled part of Kashmir have ordered most Pakistani cable stations off the air in the territory, cable operators said Thursday…
… Srinagar’s cable operators’ association protested the ban by halting the broadcast of all Indian and foreign channels. Only a few local Kashmiri channels were being aired Thursday evening and a written message at the bottom of TV screens there said the other channels would stay off the air for two days.
Cutting the Pakistani channels angered many Kashmiris, who said they relied on them for reliable news about their homeland.
“Pakistani TV provides comprehensive coverage of what is going on in Kashmir, while Indian media are generally biased,” said college student Faisal Ahmed.
Others said they related to the Pakistani channels’ entertainment programming far more than that on Indian channels.
"These channels are the link to our cultural and religious moorings," said school teacher Abdul Hamid.
India and neighboring Pakistan fought two of their three wars over Kashmir, but relations have improved since they launched a peace process in 2004.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
do they show indian channels in pakistan occupied kashmir?
Yes they show Indian channels in Azad Kashmir.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
How would you know , what i have experienced? You should limit yourself to this discussion rather then personal attacks. Mods please take a notice.
How would I know? From the way you bs here about people of Kashmir - we have all become very familiar with the crocodile tear tactics.
If you can't defend your Indian "democracy" which is oppressing the innocent Kashmiris by snatching their basic Human Rights and in this case their right to a free and fair media then you should not comment.
free and fair media? from PTV? now you see what I meant by 'the way you bs'?

Ah yes, the crocodile tears, since the muslim card doesn't work.
Even if we go off your ridiculous logic, why is the "biggest democracy in the world" denying the people of J&K the right to know about the "next batch of jihadis being dispatched?"
Wouldn't it be simpler if you can just tell your Pakistani masters to not send jihadis across to kill people of J&K?
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
^
That's right...avoid the actual issue by whining about Pakistan some more :biggthumb
I thought India was so much better and freer and more democratic than draconian Pakistan? Why the autocratic restrictions on freedom of speech then? Or are we Kashmiris just not entitled to that in the "biggest democracy in the world."

Excellent point. BTW, didn't you were Kashmiri...I thought I was the only one here. :D

You are qouting PTV and avoiding other independent free Pakistani channels....This is a sort of an immature bs stuff that you can get from a person like yours. I am sure many Indians are not like this.

Yep actually the "Indians" here are basically putting the mud on Pakistani "draconian" society, rather then simply defending the Indian " democracy " and " Human Rights ". Answer is simple they can not defend the thing that is wrong from the get go.

Most jihadis are your "own" J&K Kashmiris. Similar Jihad you are seeing in your Assam, Nagaland and Manipur.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
Jenab, Saad_UAE,
Once you're done patting each other's back and thumbs'upping, come back to reality soon.
We have seem dozens of people like you whose only interest is Pakistan but shed crocodile tears to 'atrocities' which in the first place are caused by your own Pakistani government sponsored jihadis. Why don't you stop that killing of innocents (whom you cal bros when playing the muslim card) instead coming here and beating your chest about the stopping of your propganda tv?
Real citizens of J&K know why Pakistan tv is no good
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
First of all this is a PAKISTANI board not “boo hoo no one in my country can make a decent site so I will go to someone else’s board and be a pain” board so there can be many Pakistanis here advocating for Pakistan’s interests. Secondly why don’t you stop killing tens of thousands of Innocent Kashmiris, and stop locking up people who are only leading a protest and investigate the issue of the recently discovered mass graves?
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
^ Obviously from the very line you highlighted about they guy shouting pro-Pakistani slogan, it is clear who is behind these demonstrations. Also note that they have the freedom to do so in India as opposed to the complete clamp down in POK!
And since you accuse Indians of killing, why is it so difficult for you to call for prosecution of atrocities committed by your own government in training and sending in terrorists across the border to commit these killings in the firts place? If Pakistan hadn't tried these terrorist tactics there wouldn't have been a need for such tight security measures in J&K.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
And that’s why the real citizens of J&K are complaining that they want Pakistani TV channels to be back on air.
"Pakistani television channels are popular with viewers in Indian-administered Kashmir and cable television is the main form of entertainment in the province. "
**Srinagar, **Apr 25: Reacting to the ban on airing of Pakistani channels in Jammu and Kashmir, the National Conference provincial president and MLA Islamabad, Dr Mehboob Beg, today termed it a step **against the basic tenants of democracy and detrimental to Indo-Pak relations. **
“It does not befit the world’s largest democracy to order such ban and deprive people of information at a time when the world has shrunk to a global village,” Dr Beg said.” This is not only surprising but controversial as well.”

Last couple of days have seen outrage against the banning of Pakistani television channels in Kashmir.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
^ So we'll take care the real citizens and address their concerns. You can save the croc gusher for something other than Pak TV!

Whatever, as if i care who you are or what you are going to do.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir
Real citizens of J&K know why Pakistan tv is no good
Again with the typical Indian arrogance. Despite never having set foot in Kashmir, you know what "real" Kashmiris want...better than actual Kashmiris themselves. Never mind the fact that even New Delhi's puppets in Srinagar are complaining about the move.
And again, you're deflecting the main issue on hand. You want to be able to claim that India is so free and democratic, and then you defend autocratic measures like this one. You can't have your cake and eat it too.
Re: Indian authorities have stopped Pakistani TV channels in occupied Kashmir

You're honestly claiming there are just 23 troops guarding the Pakistani side of the LoC?
Prove it.
