Yes but it is a Musla/problem for Pakistan not for India.
Why? Because of the following.
- First read UN Resolution 47 which Pakistan says guarantees a plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
United Nations Official Document - This resolution is non binding. It only instructs India and Pakistan to take certain measure to hold a plebiscite in Jammu an Kashmir. Therefore India and Pakistan can refuse to follow through without any consequences.
- Pakistan insisted during the hearings at UN that the people fighting in Kashmir are locals , Pakistani nationals,Pakistani tribesmen and there are no Pakistani forces fighting in Kashmir.
- Therefore Pakistan was advised to ensure that all Pakistanis get out of Jammu and Kashmir and not to provide any material aid to locals fighting with Indian forces. Pakistan was not ordered to do so and was free to not do so.
- India was advised to withdraw major part of their forces, keep minimum number of forces to maintain law and order in Jammu and Kashmir and hold a plebiscite. India was not ordered to do and was free to not do so.
- Pakistan never withdrew forces from that part of Jammu and Kashmir which they had freed. Pakistan never stopped from providinng all kind of material aid to resistance movement in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan had a fear that the moment they withdraw India will capture that part and there will never be a plebiscite.
- Seeing this India also did not withdraw the forces either and there was never a plebiscite.
- Pakistan has been insisting that Kashmir is Pakistan’s jugular vein and Pakistan would not survive without it. We have been surviving without Kashir and will do so Inshallah till the dooms day.
- Pakistan never took any steps to withdraw its troops from Pakistani held Jammu and Kashmir.Pakistan and has been insisting that India should withdraw it troops completely and hold a plebiscite in Indian held Jammu and Kashmir only. Pakistan does not have and never had any non violent mechanism or strategy to ensure this therefore they resorted to starting and supporting resistance movements in Kashmir and used all its resources to aid the insurgency.
- We have seen that this strategy never worked we even lost half of our country because of this strategy. If we had not become a nuclear power we might have faced more aggression many times so far.
- India hopes and feels that it has all the warewithal of controlling any kind of insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir. Therefore they want Pakistan to stop meddling in Jammu and Kashmir. They have proved this in their part of Punjab and so far in their part of Kashmir also.
- Before we became nuclear power India hoped that it can repeat the East Pakistan saga in other parts of Pakistan to keep pressure on Pakistan to stop Pakistan’s start and support resistance in Kashmir.
- After we became nuclear power India knows now that repeat of East Pakistan saga is not possible anymore but they hope and feel that can still keep pressure on us by supporting any kind of activity in, around and outside of Pakistan which can hurt Pakistan and its interests to force us to let go of our stance on Kashmir.
- We should realize that even if by any miracle Kashmir becomes part of Pakistan Kashmiris will want full autonomy which we will never agree to because other provinces of Pakistan will start demanding the same. Same will be the case with India.
- If we do not give full autonomy to Kashmiris then we will face the same kind of resistance which we help support in Indian held Kashmir.
- Kashmirs are not used to the Idea of living as citizens of Pakistan and they will never agree to that.
What do we do now? - Hold a plebiscite in Pakistan held Kashmir under UN supervision.
- The plebiscite should be around the question if Kashmiris want to be part of Pakistan , India or want to be an independent state.
- If our claims of our love for Kashmiris and their love for Pakistan are true then we should not be afraid to do so.
What will we achieve by this: - A relatively peaceful country which can put all its resources and efforts to make the life of all Pakistanis a little easier and Kashmiris if they ultimately become a sovereign nation.
- It can or cannot put pressure on India to do so on its side of Kashmir. Even if they do not do so we are not going to lose anything. We will gain a lot of respect and integrity in the eyes of world.
What can be downside of all this? - India will occupy the Kashmir we would get out of if they decide to be independent, then we would be the good guys in the eyes of International community and enjoy a good reputation and India would be a bad guy .
- Other parts of Pakistan can demand same kind of plebiscites. Not really, any kind of trouble we are facing are because India supports those guys and if we nip the Kamir issue in the bud India would have no reason to be interested to harm Pakistan in any roundabout way.

Yes this is an authentic news. Instead of being afraid of this geeder bhapki or retaliate we should ask more UN observers to be posted on LOC. Heck we should offer to pay for those expenses incurred for keeping those observers on LOC.
If we say that we are not meddling on LOC and if it is a fact that we are not meddling then this is the best option for us to save our population living in the border cities and also saving us more expenditure on maintaining high military presence on LOC. We should even ask India to have joint posts to assure India and international community that we are keeping our side of the promises and pact and India truly is the aggressor.
But I guess I am day dreaming nothing of this sort will happen in my lifetime. Dunia issee tarah chalti rahay gee. Masoom log martay rahain gay aur siasat danoon ka karobar chalta rahay ga Kashmir ka naam lay lay ker.
