^ Who cares? Bottom line, you want to win games, and you want the players who will win you games. Afridi biting a ball, stomping on a pitch - has that stopped Pakistan from playing him (or making him captain)? No, and rightly not. Ganguly knew this, and that is why IMO, he was such a great captain.

the next day Lallu Parsad calls back. “Right Mr. Clinton, the war is still on! We have managed to acquire some equipment!”
“What equipment would that be, Lallu Parsad ?” Bill asks.
Well, we have 2 combine harvesters, a bulldozer and Chacha’s tractor from the farm."
Once more Bill sighs and says, “I must tell you Lallu Parsad that I have 50,000 tanks, 2000 mine layers, 10,000 armored cars and my army has increased to 1 and a half million since we last spoke.”
“I’ll be dogged!” says Lallu Parsad . “I’ll have to ring you back!”
Sure enough,
Lallu Parsad calls again the next day. “Right Mr. Clinton, the war is still on! We have managed to get ourselves airborne! We’ve gotten out old Govind’s crop sprayer with a couple of rifles in the cockpit and the Hockey team has joined us as well!”
Once more Bill sighs and says “I must tell you Lallu Parsad that I have 4000 bombers and 8000 high maneuverability attack planes and my military installations are surrounded by laser guided surface to air missiles and since we last spoke, my army has increased to 2 million.”
“Oh cripes,” says Lallu Parsad . “I’ll have to ring you back.”
Sure enough,
Lallu Parsad calls again the next day. “Right Mr. Clinton, I am sorry to tell you that we have had to call off the
war.”
“I’m very sorry to hear that,” says Bill. “Why the sudden change of heart?”
“Well,” says Lallu Parsad ,
“We’ve all had a chat and t’be sure, there’s no way we can cope with 2 million prisoners of war.”**

I realize you are responding to an Arliism but here is a question - does the fact Pak beat Aus 11 years ago really have any bearing, since there is nobody in either team from then ?

It looks that Aus will not be playing with their main batter like Hussy, Ponting, Clark, White and etc, they better be given rest just to save their as's from rockets of indian bowlers! (jaan hay to jahan hay bbhayya, jaan bachao, WC to aani jaani cheez hay )
Looking at the previous marvelous performances with the bat, I am sure 500+ runs will be the matter of few seconds for indian batters, which we have witnessed making it many times in every Arli' s posts, why not again? and it would be entertaining to watch against the night-club type team Aus(?) ...****
What Pakistan did to Aus is actually nothing, that could have done in any street or mohalla, but thats not a biggy, that can be called as a bad day for Pakistan, by now Pakistan should be ashamed for what they did to poor Aus! I think india and other teams were on purpose allowing Aus to make the history and its bad boys of Pakistan who should be banned for breaking this world famous streak! they should be hanged to the score board till india win (I hope they get decades of life to see india win )! ...****

India & Pak are two very different teams and so its not necessary that one can do what the other did and for the same reason. That being said, most Aussie batsmen are out of form and the bowling (with a few exceptions) has not really clicked. This has also put some pressure on their fielding.
Add to this the fact that we are coming off a comprehensive win, and Aus is coming off a loss and that makes this the best time to defeat Aus

and if India does manage to defeat Aus it will be a big dent in their confidence, they will probably have a big shake-up in the team/management.
