Dhawan and Kohli so far have been no shows. No hit Sharma actually doing better than I expected. India’s best batsman Pujara belongs in ODI. He scored 75 I think in his first series in SA 2 years ago. Yuvi replacement Rahane did no better.

Murali Vijay also belongs in ODI. Raina was playing well. Got out to good shot that was brilliantly caught.

Fisherman Dhoni did what he does best.

Pak may have done better without practice. But that doesn’t take away reality batsmen need some practice in new conditions.**

India hasn’t brought her best options against pace. Mukund and Karthik replacing no hit and dhoni would have been nice. Vijay should get India off to better starts in Tests. Pujara should stabilize the batting.

Good to see Ashwin and Jadeja hang in for a while. And show the south Africans are not the second coming of Holding Roberts et al.

Hoping for interesting Test series.
