One thing I cant understand is that Dhoni wins the toss and than bats. India's strength is its batting, surely they should be chasing.

One thing I cant understand is that Dhoni wins the toss and than bats. India's strength is its batting, surely they should be chasing.
If the bowlers let the other team pile up a huge score, that might put unnecessary pressure on the batsmen.

Yes, but I have seen them succumb to the pressure once too often. I am not saying that I agree with the decision to bat first - just that I think this is what is probably playing in Dhoni/Kirsten's mind.

Well if Pakistan Plays India in QF obviously only one team will qualify for the semi's. We will let the day decide who it shall be :).
