India v England, 1st match, ICC Champions Trophy, Sunday Oct. 15

A stuttering win by India but I think the pitch had a lot do with it. This was more like a test pitch and it will kill the tournament if we have more low-scoring pitches like this.

India’s middle order collapsed again as usual, it should have easy win :kursi:

I am short on the details but I believe the matches could not be staged at some of the bigger venues because of advertising restrictions imposed by ICC. Therefore you have matches in Bombay being played at Brabourne instead of the usual Wankhede.

As for this game, I would retierate that One Day games are basically tukkaybaji unless one team is head and shoulders above the opposition. We can do all the pre-game analysis we want - but this is the FACT.

Australia and Zimbabwe/Bangladesh are two ends of the cricketing spectrum...for all the teams in between its a matter of gamble (as to who wins) when they play against each other in ODIs.

And 20/20 will remove even the pretense of logic and reason that remains in the One-day game format.

england looked like they were practicing for the ashes..they hardly look serious playing one day cricket.i hope australia gives them a good hiding in the ashes so their ashes dreams are over and they can concenterate on other cricket.
