^ I agree - Indians played well, especially Patel and Bopara almost won it for India with their performance :)
I think the Indian team performances had an adverse impact on Indian fans. Dont worry take heart and look across the border where the fans have been suffering the same fate for sometime now and take every defeat in their stride, its the victories that upset us now.
Well the Defeat yesterday was on the cards but momentarely it did give an impression that there was fire in the Belly from India (during batting that was) ..... what how ever is an alarming proposition is the lack of bite in the Bowling ..... Munaf bowled i think 2-3 deliveries beyond 80mph ..... V. kumar was a at similar speed however he did it more often ..... yet no threat at all ..... Praveen relied on Swing only and was carted as were others all over the Park ..... now when Kohli has to do the 4th/5th bowlers duties u got to look at the depth of Players pool available for selection ..... Those who think England will difficulties when they visit India later this year i ask what will be India's fate with this sort of Bowling attack ..... it's not like all this bowlers will start bowling faster once touching down in India ...... Good Batting took India to new heights with an OKish Attack but now that batting is showing signs of what is in store for future ...... The claims of so many Injuries can't sugar coat the real state of matters ....
Now consider the future line up (2012 and onwards):
Sehwag, Gambhir, Tendulkar + Dravid + Laxman (all 3 for a year or 2), Kohli, Yuvraj, Raina, Sharma, Dhoni, Zaheer, Ishant, Kumar, Munaf, RP Singh, Sreesanth, Ashwin, Mishra, , Harbajhan
Now if that's the Pool BCCI looks to build the Team from one wonders where are a couple of really good Fast bowlers + a very good spinner ..... now if u go ahead and take out the soon-to-be-retiring 3 batters then just look how stable the batting looks once the opening combination is split
187 in 23 overs (RR: 8.13) was quite a decent effort by the second-string indian batting line-up .... could even be described as a commanding total!!
Provided you have a decent bowling attack, 8+ RPO is a winning total in T20, 70-80% of the time..
The lack of penetration and variety in india's bowling attack can be gauged from the fact that England won comfortably in the end despite going a batsman short into this rain-reduced game.

It was much better than india's first batting line up.
