India Tour of England 2011

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Sorry i dont respect those two cartoons ....They are too biased

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Here were David Lloyd's logic for defending 3rd umo's decision re: Dravid:

1) Dravid's body language indicated he is out. (This is the same Lloyd who also felt Dravid's body language indicated he was out in the last test).
2) Fielder's body language indicates Dravid is out. These are the same fielders who appeal on everything - so this one does not pass the sniff test.
3) Back in our day - batsmen used to walk - this one makes me throw up. I followed that era. The English batsmen definitely did not walk until the ump gave them out.
4) The hot spot is not 100% - so because of that should we be relying on batsman and fielders body language (which of course is 100% reliable?)
5) Theh ball deviated - I looked at the replay - did not see deviation.

This was an open and shut case. There was actually no doubt Dravid was not out. This was not a bang bang call. 3rd ump had enough time to get ot correct. Unless he wanted to rely on body language....

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Dravid himself thought he had a feather on that

Re: India Tour of England 2011

That is OK - Gavaskar is by no means a cartoon. He is one of the most honest commentators I have heard. Gavaskar showed the Indian team tehe way to stand upi to England, Australia etc. He speaks the truth. We can agree to disagree.

Sastri is an excellent commentator - he can get hot under the collar at times. But that is OK.

In fact, I like Akram, Nasser hussain, Sastri, Gavaskar, Manjrekar, Laxman Sivaramakrishnan, Harsha Bogle, Holding.

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Is there a link?

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Note to self - It is just a game

Cheers!

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Is that reason why you blame Sachin for scoring centuries in loosing matches? He scores most of his runs being persistent at the crease. Likewise, you will accuse Dravid in the future too for scoring 100s in the loosing matches. You guyz are just biased.

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Southie, Waleed and others who are having orgasms would be very happy at the so called cartoons if they start dissing the Indian team and take all the crap from the worst decisions.

Truth be told, this is one of the worst nightmares match for Indian batsmen. Are they clueless or careless? I really do not understand.

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Feel for Dravid. He has been twice unlucky with umpiring decisions in this series. The hot spot evidence was far from conclusive and the benefit of the doubt should have gone to the batsman. So it is all credit to him that despite those two dubious calls he still managed to score three hundreds - infact the only centurion from India - and amass 461 runs at 76.83 in this tough series

This 'mismatch' test series has been all about England vs Dravid

Day 4 was easily the best day for India in the whole series but despite Dravid's fighting hundred in the first innings, only a miracle can save India now from a series whitewash. Can Sachin save them the ultimate embarrassment tomorrow?

Stay tuned...

Re: India Tour of England 2011

Thanks Waleed!
