Bell 233 not out
Re: India Tour of England 2011
England 546/5 (141.5 ov)
Re: India Tour of England 2011
At lunch
Eng 591/6
bell out for 235
India has been batted out of the match but on a brighter note for India RP Singh and Sreesanth joined Mishra as centurions on this ground with Sharma tantalizingly close on 97. Hope to see him complete his century after lunch.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Can any of the indian bowlers score a double hundred? It will test their fitness.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Sreesanth chitrols English batsmen on 3rd day before rain saves England.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Atleast Gambhir and Ishant Sharma can console each other.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Lot of fun listening to Harsha Bogle, Gavaskar and Akram during the break.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
England declare after amassing 591/6
Re: India Tour of England 2011
During post match interview Dhoni said India will play the 4th test for PRIDE!
So far it is looking pretty sad state of affairs.
Raina 29 balls played BIG zero.
Sehwag another failiure
Tendulkar..that century is just not coming.
Laxman couldn't handle the swing again.
Dravid is holding the fort
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Whatever happened to benefit of doubt going to the batsman? In a game of inches, even micrometer level decisions appear to favor "English".
Swann did bowl very well though.
That Dravid guy is terrible, always scoring 100s in India's defeat.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Somehow there is more life in the flat Oval wicket when English bowlers are operating. It seems a different tussle between bat and ball altogether
Re: India Tour of England 2011
cricinfo comment sums it up:
"Yet another day when England were all over India. Is this the most humiliating series for a top Test team ever? Soon after England racked up nearly 600, India's batsmen, barring the brilliant Rahul Dravid, flopped for the seventh time in this series. Every over England bowled, they seemed to be close calls for the Indian batsmen, unlike yesterday when Bell and KP absolutely toyed with the attack. India finish the day 488 behind."
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Great. England phir se cha gaya !!
Re: India Tour of England 2011
What in the world has happened to India in this series. Struggles are natural but they havent turned up! ![]()
Re: India Tour of England 2011
Tendulkar had one paddle sweep foro 4, another paddle sweep for a single off Swann - then he tried to sweep Swann - got out. Considering the long road ahead, it was surprising to see him play those strokes at that stage.
There was one over in which Tendulkar was beaten 4 times (I think off Breshan). Raina was dropped by Strauss off Swann. The ball seems to be very lively when England bowls. There was on ball from Broad that just beat Dravid so badly - he just stood there smiling and shaking his head.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
The way Sehwag, Laxman and Tendulkar got out, it looked Indian batsmen lost the mind game. The fighting spirit was not there. As for Dravid he survived out there due to his immaculate technique.
Re: India Tour of England 2011
A team player should make adjustments. with Gambhir unavailable, and a loss of an early wicket, as Manjrekar pointed out, Laxman was ill-equipped to come at 1-down - virtually as an opener. Tendulkar should have been sent at #3. Word is he is inflexible re: his position in the batting order.
Laxman probably was overmatched, Sehwag is always a gamble. But for Tendulkar to throw his wocket away boggles the mind. Maybe it is age. But he certainly did not rise up to the challenge. Piing on runs when the pressure is not on is one thing, hanging in there and grafting runs and seeing the team through to the 1st couple of sessions the next day is another. He has not even the minimum expectations in this series. Time to retire?
Re: India Tour of England 2011
India is murdered by the junky Bell. Look at Sreesanth’s face expression after KP was caught in slip. He was both in disbelieve (that he can take any wicket today) and about to cry on his team’s helplessness.
