Pakistanis don't normally waste a lot of your time anyways.

And that goodwill is reciprocated by the gentle Indians.

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

GA the other Ump Tucker was at it again. Gave Pujara out caught off his elbow. I shudder when he is the Ump and England appeal. His finger itches.

Earlier in the day he did not give swann obese off chawla
Though chawla got him 2 balls later.

Pujara wit costly. He and gambhir set.

Little master scored little runs. What a joke. He wasxbeatn multiple times.

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

I know umpiring has been bad at times in this series. Hence more arguments in favour of DRS

India looking down the barrel and not for the first time in this series! really should have restricted England to under 250 after taking the first 5 wickets for 139 runs

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

You probably have a point

DRS has its limitations in the fact each team is only allowed a maximum of two **referrals per innings **meaning that teams can’t go upstairs for every questionable moment in a match. Hence I want that to be increased to 5 or 6 (or atleast 4).

2 referrals per innings is not enough. As things stand now, most captains are hesitant or reluctant to use DRS until late in the innings for fear of getting the first referral wrong thereby being left with just one more for the remainder of the innings

Ofcourse you don't want to interrupt the flow of the game too much but I would much rather have 85 overs bowled in a day and 95% correct umpiring decisions than 90 overs in a day and absolute howlers like the one yesterday. One bad decision can potentially be a game changer

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

Not 5 or 6, man, unlimited. :hypo: And as for 85 overs in a day, increase the day. Most test matches rarely go to the last session of day 5 anyway. The pace at which things go these days, result is almost always evident before the first ball of the fifth day is bowled.

Bad decisions and umpiring mistakes, however kill the game sooner than what time wasting would do.

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

I think they should remove the on field umpires all together and just use the camera umpires.

cz if the umpire gives a wrong decision and then that batsman goes on to win the match its not fair and makes the game very sour.

also these umpires should be held to a high standard, they make too many mistakes..

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

I agree DRS needs to be mandatory. But lack of it is not an excuse for an umpire ( tucker) to keep giving poor decisions AGAINST one team alone. I feel comfortable when Dharmasena is Ump. But ltucker I. Prev test was Upton same tricks.

Agree with Superman85 - unlimited appeals warranted. 2 appeal limit leaves lot of room for thuggety.bad umpiring evens out. Deliberate bad imputing. Against one side ruins game.

And I cant type

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

So Flat Track Bully ie Sehwag cant even score on a flat track means end is near for him too

And Tendulkar lol he just plays for his records nothing else he is eyeing 200 test matches now

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

Drawing inspiration from The One and Only One, also known as Misbah, Kohli and Dhoni added 59 runs in 32 overs without losing a wicket.

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

Forgot to mention - in the last Test with india batting, he referred a catch to 3 rd Ump. He had decided ball hit bat. But was not sure if catch cleanly made.

3 rd Ump gave not out. Catch was cleanly taken. But ball had not hit bat!

Luckily there is a rule that if 3 rd Ump finds some new info while checking he can use it. This would have been 2 innings in a row Tucker would have given Indian batsman out for hitting thigh and elbow. Mistakes always against India by tucker. You wont hear English commentators harp on this.

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

Dhoni did a Misbah in the bowling too by selecting four spinners and now tuk tuking in batting too

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

He tuk- tucked his way to 99 before channeling the great Inziman!

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

The dangerous Tucker struck in the. First ballnof the last hour. And kohli was out, given LBW by the skilled Ump. Jadeja was out LBW, followed by a close Dhoni runout at 99. Chawla piyushed and missed at a delivery and was bowled in the last over. With that, India, spearheaded by the illustrious Tucker, managed to give away the initiative.

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

**India declare after strange hour
**
India’s first innings continued in strange fashion on the fourth morning until MS Dhoni declared with a deficit of four runs following an hour where the game had not moved anywhere. Despite being behind in the series, R Aswhin started the day declining singles and along with the other batsmen, made hardly any move to get close to the England total quickly.

India now have five-and-a-half sessions to try and conjure a victory. The pitch remains docile in the extreme and their best hope appears to be that the pressure starts to tell on England during their final push for a famous series victory. England, for their part, need to be careful that their second innings is not inflicted by a negative mindset which can be a danger in a third innings when a draw is on the cards.

They certainly didn’t push their case with the ball. It quickly became clear that they weren’t trying too hard to take the remaining two wickets, content to allow India to prod and poke around to take time out of the game. When Monty Panesar bowled Pragyan Ojha there was barely a flicker of emotion from any of the players and even Panesar - who had waited 50 overs for a wicket - didn’t manage as much as a clap. They had been quite happy to watch Ojha compile 3 from 32 balls.

Further instructions came out from the dressing room twice, but the plans never really changed much from the batsmen. Ashwin, who has batted superbly during the series, was in no trouble at the crease but neither did he do any damage. Nine overs into the day he finally scored a two but there wasn’t a single boundary during India’s hour at the crease.

Is it defecning approach or something else ?

re: India to host England at Nagpur today 4th Test

Poor strategy by India. Fault rests with coach and captain. They should have instructed batsmen to take singles when available. Very slow scoring in first half hour of play. I expected some quick runs. Not this total lack of strategy.
