The point is that they came by boat undetected and walked right into your city, why were they not detected. Where were your coastal guards? Definitely a security failure. By saying none of them made it back, you are comparing them with highly trained soldiers whose job is to carry our such raids and I also think that those idiots never wanted to go back, they came with a purpose of killing as many innocent people as they could before they are taken out and unforutnately they succeeded in that. bottom line, failure of security in both countries, nothing to be proud of.

Its different to have people who look like you attacking you vs some goras who came in uniforms.
If you visit india you will knnow that police usually dont carry weapons with them. and the few who carry them have out dated WW2 weapons which have not been fired in decades. Even the ones who got caught alive was by a police team who had only two outdated guns and sticks. the cop who captured kasab had put his stick against kasab's AK-47. it was a cake walk for those 10 men to kill unarmed people who couldnt fire back. thanks to them now our police carries weapons in major cities.

We hear a lot in UK and USA of terrorist plots disrupted due to intelligence and yet in our part of the world the very symbol of the country (parliament) is attacked and no one had a clue.

I do hope no foreign helicopter fly over your country but dont get too carried away, ten terrorists landed on your shores walked into your city raided many places and created mayhem and your security forces didnt have a clue till the mayhem started. Just pray that incidents like that do not take place ever again.

But the same peopl had no answer when a couple of armed men ambushed the bus carriyng the SriLankan players ,at Liberty Chowk in Lahore in March 2009.
Still the foreign business men and corporates returnd to Mumbai.Mr.Obam cme to Mumbai.Cricket returned to Mumbai.Ofcourse the world witnessed the 2010 W.C final in Mumbai.You and me watched that. :)The entire G.S watched that.
The aftermath of Librty raid was devastating for Pakistan.Till date not a single cricket match(let alone cricket not as single International event )has happened in Pakistan...
It means only one thing.Indian security system can come back from a setback and India can asusre the whole International community that it can provide the foul proof security.

i guess we both cannot agree on this. i am talking about planes full of armed men people attacking a place going unpunished vs a terrorist attack.
BTW in delhi they were killed outside and in both mumbai and delhi there was a strong reaction and India was on the verge of a war.
I am not denying that our intelligence agencies failed and our politicians failed the nation. i am saying that both the cases are not compareble. you can compare GHQ attack with delhi parliament attack. but attababad is different.

Well personally the way our army and intelligence has been behaving for the past few years I dont blame the Indians, the Iranians might do the same on the pretext to get their man (some Jundallah bigwig)...the army by bowing and bowing to our masters has exposed ourselves badly, on the one hand we spend most of our budget on these people who cannot even protect their people! India comes later, lets hope and pray that we come out of the present crisis unharmed and unscathed...

People - this is not cricket match. The world community, including India, has two options:
1) we can all investigate and castigate Pakistan, its govet, its military and its people for shielding terrorists and playing double games. That was my first reaction too. BUT THAT DOES NOT CHANGE ANYTHING.
2) we can work hard to identify and shore up those parts of the leadership & institutions in Pakistan that are not part of the evil kabal and help them create a nation that is not insecure and hell bent on destroying itself and the rest of the world.
While Singh and Zardari and hugging and posing their way to a thoroughly undeserved peace nobel (or at least Singh trying very hard for it!) let us hope that a true and honest leadership emerges both in Pakistan and India for our own sake.

I did not mean anything different,Sir. I said security or intelligenc lapses can happen anywhere.Even the Times Square bombing bid by Mr.Shehzad was averted only in the last minute.But the coutries like U.S and U.K have learnt from the flaws whereas some others are continuing with their experiments. India had not had major terror attacks after 26/11 until the bad guys struck in Pune and in Banaras.But certainly the security apparatus has improved in it's efficiency.We have been able to snare a few and avert a great deal of attempts because of that.
I do not say that Indian security system is as professional as U.S or U.K but certainly we have improved.
