Re: India/Pakistan series - Daily Diary
Lahori Munda's day 3 review:
Pakistani bowlers lucked out since they only had to bowl less then 20 overs today on a lifeless pitch. The match is certainly heading for a draw and with more rain in the forecast it seems like the bowlers won’t have to toil all day in the field trying to get something out of this pitch.
Sehwag played some spectacular shots today which took him only a stroke away from a well deserved century. It seems just like Younis saves his best for India, Sehwag saves his best for Pakistan. Rahul Dravid on the other end is playing only in the 30’s, but more importantly he is still there. It was a brave move by him to come as the opener to counter the attack. He also sent a clear signal to the oppositions that he is will not come under pressure by their big scores and fast bowlers and will the challenge head on.
This match is certainly heading for a draw now with even more weather problems expected in the coming days. India will just try to get some batting practicing in to get their players in the groove; god knows their bowlers have had enough practice for this tour as they toiled for the first two days.
We will need to have a sporting wicket for the next test match to make this series interesting. The crowd was good for this test match but if they keep on seeing tame draws with both sides managing to bat with ease they will go back to their shell and we will again see empty stadiums for test matches.
