I have to honestly say, I'm surprised. How can you ask us what Pakistan has done since its conception? Does it have to do something special and great and heroic in order to be given the right to be a country? I know a lot of Indian People. And what i've noticed is that Indians have a problem with accepting Pakistan as a separate entitiy. Why do you guys consistenly concentrate on the fact that Pakistan is facing developement problems? The social, political, and economic problems found in our country are also present in your country if you look. Granted, India HAS moved ahead in many respects. But that does not mean that Pakistan will yield to India and say "okay, we give up, we want to be annexed into India now". Sorry to say, but THAT wont happen. First you guys need to accept we are a separate nation, and then you need to start extending friendly hands. We've already done that as you can see by Musharraf's every movement. I think our role in the uprooting of Talibaan, in the Cold War are perfect examples of our contribution to the world. Pakistanis have done more than enough for the world. Our nationality is featured in every profession and quite often, we are in leading positions. I believe also that Pakistanis and Indians should exist on friendly relations. However, that wont work with close-minded leaders such as Vajpayee. But, if we are to exist on friendly relations, we need to respect each other as nations and not feed on each others problems and try to belittle each other (the belittling is quite obvious in your question as to what Pakistan has contributed to the world). Furthermore, I assure you, Pakistan is in the right hands with Musharraf's administration and hopefully stability and success will come to that nation.
And as for your comment on no Indian ever passing derogatory comments about Pakistan, i beg to differ. India has blatantly labelled Pakistan as a terrorist-promoting country (false accusations), have continuously blamed Pakistan for ALL terrorist activity within India, mocked our entertainment industry, insulted our prime religion Islam in the media and within Indian homes, looked snobbishly down at our fashion industry. Please don't make such false statements to make your country look a great deal more noble than it really is. Frankly, India is no better than Pakistan.

Yes you are right... but what ever India has gained is with its democracy and we have not even gained democracy yet.. we never had the real democracy.. Army and ISI was the power all the time.. Instead of finding bad stuff about other country we should look for bad stuff about us.. cause we don represent India or other country.. even if other countries are not good, just let them be like that, what we have is our country and it is what we have to take care of. we always think about others and how bad others r... we always think of Kashmir or Palestine, if we start thinking about us then we would be much better.
thats all
hey i think you ppl took me in wrong way. I didn't mean to say that you do anything negative about non muslims (i still think they are called Kafir in Quran Pak).
But the fact is you can never be "Friends"if you really understand what friendship is about. And Prophet Muhammed (P_B_U_H) also got Quran Pak which also says the same thing.Correct me if i am wrong.
you can see Abhinand reply to understand that.
I mean for God sake if you really want to build your country then get united for once.I am saying it as a Paki.
"we always think of Kashmir or Palestine, if we start thinking about us then we would be much better."
"If u guys study Prophet Muhammad (SAW)'s life he was always nice to kafirs and he was very friendly to them......."
Now DD if you really study Prophets (P_B_U_H) life then you will understand there is no such thing like nationalism the one common factor is islam. Saying only Pakistan is not going to get us anywhere because may i remind you Paksitan was made on name of Islam. And the only reason Pakistan is not progressing is because we have left islam and we are trying to become so called moderates.
thats all
Sorry if i was sounding rude while expalining my point of view.
Allah Nighaban.

Pakistan has helped in peacekeeping measures
around the world. I see talent in political
science to a great degree here. Better than
I see in other countries, no Bukwaas!
Abhinand,
Seriously, what has India contributed to this world?Apart from having the world's largest cattle population(why won't it?It worships them),& committing mass genocide?Pakistan's hatred against India is misplaced?Thats like saying America's hatred of Bin Laden is misplaced.Hatred against terrorist entities has not been & is not misplaced.
So Indians never speak ill of Pakistanis huh?You just b*tched the hell about Pakistan & then you have the audacity to make such comments? It was just pure hatred which compelled you to post that message.
Oh,and by the way,Indiatimes has a hate Pakistan club..so get your facts right
Dirty Dawg: I see your point and I somewhat agree with you. HOwever, I don't think that Pakistan is at a point where it can succeed in a democracy, not even maintian order under it. That's becuz of one simple phenonmenon. I know this sounds funny, but it is somewhat true. The majority of intelligence has left Pakistan, leaving behind a severely illiterate public. Democracy will never work with an illiterate public, simply becuz they will elect officials who "stir their hearts" with emotional speeches. An emotional speech is not indicative of a great ruler. Hence, people like Nawaz Sharif, and Benazir get elected and then do "khana kharabi" of the entire mulq. The reason why India could move ahead with democracy was that India's system of education is far superior. We have the curriculum; but no school is really enforcing it. Students get by with cheating n no one stops them.
The whole issue of Pakistan should not be focusing on nationalism becuz Islam is wider than nationalism is a graet idea. HOwever, in this time and age, its not practicable. Even then, Pakistan is one of the very few nations who has come to the rescue of its brother muslim states. Ex. Afghanistan, providing support to "freedom fighters" (not terrorists) in Kashmir, Bosnia, etc. However, i would like to ask, what Muslim nation has come to Pakistan's rescue?? Therefore, do we have the only responsibility still of promoting Islamic unity over nationalism? And how can we as Muslims promote Islamic unity when we have problems promoting unity within the muslim community of our own nation?
Guys we say that we help our brother Muslims and their countries. e.g. kashmir, Palistine. But for that we should have a stand in world... guys just think we dont even have a democracy, we have no stand and our country's economy is soo down.. first we should make ourself able to stand.. then we should help others..
when we are nothing then wht can we do for others...
"be something to do something"
thats all..
