India NZ 2003

Sehwaq is a much better version of Afridi. He is more like an Imran Nazir, full of talent but just wastes it away. The other problem with Sehwaq is he tries to play the shots that Tendulkar plays agaisnt quality oppositions. He need to realize what his limitations are and not worry about what Tendulkar can do. I think Sehwaq just needs some time to think things over, drop him for a couple of matches and give him some time to think. He'll come back, he's got the talent he just needs a little polishing.

I think having time off since April is a long time of thinking for Sehwag.

Anyways, must have been a boring match, I thought Ahmedabad was known for its dead wickets, how can you score just 250 runs in one day while losing just 3 wickets.

Well the new Indian batsman averages somewhere in the region of 56 in Domestic Cricket so that is very good - though i know nothing of the bowlers and Keeper - hell of a lot of experience in the Indian side though with the likes of Sorauv, Sachin, Rahul, VVS, Anil etc etc…

I have to say that India have always done well at home and that is due their ability to adapt well to their own surfaces. Or to put it another way they are very hard to beat at home.

They did seem to be looking like they have problems with injuries and that but will these new faces do the job for them? The thing is that there won’t be too much hype around India at the moment - they made it to the World Cup final but there has been nothing since for them and this is their first Test Series in almost a year. There is no real pressure on them though if they don’t perform there will probably be some soon enough.

New Zealand are too without a star player(Shane Bond) but will they be able to replace him as easy? Also India now have a specialist Keeper too - that will help their case.

As for the All-rounder situation well India have around 6 or so All rounders yet none of them are actually very good! About 5 of them can bat but not really bowl very well and the other can bowl but just throws his bat at everything and hits and hopes!

I was surprised at the dismissal of Sachin - somewhat of a shock for someone of his stature. Well played however by Rahul - he is one of my favourite Indian players - he is very talented and yet very modest too - plus a good cameo by VVS - a good start all round for India.

:smokin2:

Talha bhai, do you watch every single sport in the world. :konfused:
BTW, how is that Women’s World Cup going?

Tomy iske muh me Dravid ka Bat dal de ..

I rather watch Aus vs Zim

V Laxman c Wiseman b Vettori 64

India 271/4

Ganguly has yet to open his account (after 14 balls) and Dravid is as composed as ever.

**148.6 Oram to Dravid, OUT: short of a good length, Dravid looks to glide
the ball to third man, edged to the keeper, end of a stupendous
innings!

   India 446/5, Partnership of 182
   R Dravid c Hart b Oram 222 (387b 28x4 1x6)**

Hats off to Dravid.

Once again my favourite batsman has shown is true colours ..... Dravid for me is the key to India's success in Tendi's presence .....

When India tour AUS then for sure Dravid's wicket will be an important wicket if not the most important especially in Tests ....

Indian batting is strong but the key to the series will be whether they can bowl NZ out. Shouldn't really be a problem as NZ's only class batsman I can think of right now is the captain Steven Fleming, the rest are pretty ordinairy.

6.5 Khan to Richardson, OUT: good length ball, just outside the off, great seam position, Richardson plays away from his body and slightly outside the line of the ball, the ball takes the inside edge and crashes into the stumps, that is a big, big wicket for India

301 is the target to avoid follow on for NZ

8.4 Khan to Vincent, OUT: full and outside the off, a bit of pace too, the ball slants away from the bat and Vincent has a nibble, the edge flies towards first slip, Patel leaps across to his right and snatches the ball inches from the ground, diving full length!

India on fire here

10.1 Khan to Fleming, OUT: just short of a good length, a touch outside the off and coming in a touch with the angle of delivery and seam off the wicket, Fleming shoulders arms and looks in horror as the ball knocks the off stump out of the ground

NZ in disarray

Allah hi khair karey !!

Tendulkar is out out out out. Yeah baby. Yeah baby.

Great batting dispay by Dravid and Ganguly and then some devastating bowling by Zaheer.

Zaheer is getting better day by day. I guess NZ must be missing Bond now.

NZ is doomed :nook: … I wonder if they’ll be able to reach 200 at all. Good bowling by Zaheer and good batting by India :k:

I just checked the status of Auz vs Zim test. At the end of day one Aus is 372 for 3 (on a fast pitch) and India were 269 for 2 in same amount of overs on a batting track. I guess this is the difference b/w Aussies and Rest of the world. They are always positive in their game. No matter what version of the game are they playing they always keep up the score moving and give the audiance fun for their money.

There you go it, Aus were able to produce 370 runs on the world's most liveliest pitch while India scored 500 in 2 days on a very flat track.

Ahmadabad may be a flat wicket but it's also a very slow wicket and scoring run isn't easy. Not to mention that India had lost 3 important wickets early on. If you look at the over all score 500( in 159), then it isn't that bad.
