BOMBAY, Nov 21 (Reuters) - A bomb attack on a mosque in western India injured 21 people on Friday, triggering sporadic violence as angry crowds set fire to shops and vehicles, police said.
Police in the town of Parbhani, nearly 500 km (310 miles) east of India’s financial capital Bombay, had earlier said seven people had been injured. They said a curfew had been imposed to try to curb the violence.
“The situation is tense and mobs are setting fire to shops and vehicles and throwing stones in the main market area,” Parbhani police official S.S. Khandare told Reuters by telephone.
This is not isolated incident muslims and minorities are discriminated in the failed secular system especially in the Right wing BJP India and you know that very well!
bombs, masscres and community flare ups are a daily occurance in India what does that say about the secular system in place there!
I've yet to see a Pakistani advocate that. It's all bhai-bhai from a safe distance.

Like i said before the secular system is failure when you get people making racist comments like the ones above which basically say lets kick the muslims and minorities out of India!
There is an action, a bomb blast at a Mosque.
Who did it? Right wing Hindus to harass the minority Muslim community or some Muslim terrorist organization to agitate the Muslims?
But following attracted my attn immediately…

Who is this ‘mob’? Off course Muslims.
India is secular, democratic or not or may be security system to blame, but where will you such a grand reaction by a minority community?
challo ji one more conspiracy theory to add to my list
so royal family was behind bombings in riyadh
us/uk behind bombings in turkey
muslim extremists behind bombing in India
what next.. US marines blew up WTC?

Excuse me? Where did I say 'kick the muslims out'. As for our secular system being a failure, don't you just wish!

Minority residing into ghettos, ghettos can be very big, considering Muslims comprise 12-15% of Indian population.
Karina I was making my point by deliberately positing a ridiculously unworkable example.
Indian Muslims have as much right as anyone to remain in their country and shouldnt have to leave their homes unless they wish to do so.
Indian emigrants comprise roughly 10 percent of Pakistan's population.

Ravage, I know you were.
I was making a point too. Indian muslims are Indians, period. There are other Indians suffering too - hindus, Nagas, dalits, Kashmiri pandits, to name a few. Whenever a mosque or temple blows up it is not just the muslim who suffers. But muslim suffering is used as anti-hindu propaganda by many Pakistanis and it's getting a bit sickening.

I agree that any other suffering should evoke equal revulsion. You shouldnt, however, discount muslim suffering as anti-hindu propaganda, especially when there is so much of it in unbiased sources, such as BBC (unless you have reason to believe that the BBC is biased?)
furthermore, and correct me if im wrong here, arent reports of muslim victimisation more frequent than say..naga victimisation?

Muslims are the second majority after hindus so yes, they are in the thick of things much more than Nagas. I'm not refuting any reports. On the contrary many incidents that should have been reported have been swept under the carpet or ignored. I'm all for the media leading a witch hunt, but a GS witch hunt is invariably tinged with bias.
Take this mosque bombing for eg. 5 dumbasses who had nothing better to do hurled some bombs. No one died, the injured have been rushed to hospital, the state is on high alert and police have been deployed to curb violence. Are you telling me that this kind of thing does not happen in Pakistan or other under- developed countries? And yet this thread starts off with the premise 'Another Great Example of the failure of the Secular system where NO ONE is safe especially in a country run by the right wing racist BJP!'
Excuse me while I laugh!
This kind of thing happened under the Congress as well. It is not the failure of the sytem, it is the failure of the entire citizenship to ensure that the system works for them the way it should.
Another eg. If you're following the Best Bakery case you'll know that Zahira Khan (not sure if that is the correct name) has moved out of Gujrat and filed a case with the SC in Bombay. She is being protected by whom? By hindus, despite a zillion threats by goons. The lawyer, the social activist, the judge who has chastised Modi....are all hindus and intent on helping her find justice. But none of this could have happened if she had not knocked on some doors first.
Anyway, this place won't change. Every few days you see the same ol recycled crap posted.

perhaps you could specifically point out the moulding features of the Indian secular system. If inspite of a secular system, the people are moulded into killing minorities, what should the system be?

i agree. gujraat and everything associated with it betrays a shocking trend in India that needs to be addressed.
