Umm, yeah, in a way, what they wear is shalwar kameez or so it's called now, but I don't think it's even remotely close to actual and real "Shalwar Kameez". I mean, seriously, I barely and rarely see any so-called "celebrity" or even pucblic, for that matter, in shalwars. What they do put on is a cross of capris and shorts. And kameez has long been replaced with a top thingie that hardly reaches/covers their hips. And this, my friend, is not or never was our "national dress code"
that is SOME cases, Karma, Maria B, Umar Sayeed, and a lot of other designers still make pure shalwar kameez, and a lot of stuff that you would say in ads or magazines or w/e is just way to show that alterations can be made... and people hardly wear the clothes as they are shown...alterations are usually made
I dont wear capri's (atleast not those short ones) so if I see a design I really like with capri's, I always alter it do my personal thing
and a kameez is now a tunic worn with jeans, a tunic is from a kameez, we pakistani's have our shalwar kameez, indians have thier Sari's and YES, shalwar kameez is 100% pakistani
