I thought Sun was a ball of molten laava that sends off many firey flares. Silly me.

Its a ball of ionized gas or plasma i think.

Interesting thing i found about sun, may be ISRO can take a lead here with its Aditya mission

Because the Earth orbits in a flat plane, the Sun can only ever be seen “side-on”.
