yes exactly .....the A-5 I think can carry them in their bombbays so no need to risk Mirage or Falcons I am not sure if artillery park of Pak army is capable of it or not but the shortrange SSM are always there but suppose they are used against huge tank/troop concentrations they could have been pretty effective Obviously we wouldnt want to wait till the enemy crosses our border they would best be used pre-emptively

The thing with using jets/bombers of PAF is that you need good aircover for them to operate and PAF is very much lacking against IAF which deploys Flankers, Mirages, and Jaguars (mainly as a bomber).

When and if JF-17 is inducted, PAF could be better able to take care of the Mirages leaving it to devise a way against Flankers (there is a split: some say Flankers can be used as bombers but a lot of others say that flankers can be used as a good air superiority platform...).
