Realistically, your quality of life will go down. In the UK, there’ greater competition for all resources. You’ll live in a smaller place, you’ll drive a smaller car, you’ll pay more for food and petrol.

There is less crime overall, less murders per capita, it’s a vibrant active youthful country, TV is better , and it just has so much more character and so ul.

You can wear the colors in your wardrobe
Smaller portions of totally tasteless food will help you lose weight fast
High cost of transportation will force u to walk.. (more weight loss)
Closer to Pak (this should be in Cons me thinks)
Endless supply of comic relief laughing at the Brits

Cons

No Escape from Monsanto or GM genetically modified food
Uses the same money-created-out-of-thin-air by Central Bankers
Crappy Climate
The cheesy "Cheers" gets annoying pretty fast

LOL. I wont say a word. After living for almost 10 years (& total of around 14 in my life time) in UK I left it in 1999 and dont have any wish to go back there.

I dont understand why people plan to go somewhere that is already "OVER" crowded.

It all depends on where you move.

Here is some pros:

1. travel to Europe is an hop and skip away. You can acquire vaca property in the loveliest of locales.

2. People are actually friendly once you leave London.

3. North is beautiful. I can't give exact location cuz some of you buggers will move there and we all know what happens when ONE desi moves somewre -- his/her entire village follows!!!!!

4. Contrary to popular American belief, food is excellent! London is the uber-cosmopoliton city of the world and is home to chefs from around the globe. You won't miss NYC.

5. Your trendy clothes will not make you stand out like a sore thumb. :D Londoners are very stylish.

6. Desi community is big.

7. I like desi chicks in London better than the americans -- more cultured.

8. 'Netting in Oval, need I say more?

9. Groceries are good.

Cons:

1. Cost of living is high.

2. Friggin' vitamins are friggin expensive!

3. Vitamins are expensive!

4. Small cars. Narrow roads.

5. Roundabouts! They come in all sizes. I got so sick of driving around the little ones, that I started driving OVER them!

6. Wait staff can be rude. What's on the menu is what you are getting.

7. Groceries are expensive.

8. Second hand cigarette smoke.

9. People won't hide their hostility towards your American accent. Don't discuss politics in pubs or public places.

...ok here's my two cents worth to this topic.

Pros:

We have a state healthcare system (although, many inc. i know it's rubbish).
It's cold (which is how i like it, i'm a nocturnal person).
We can be stereotyped into a red bus, a clock (big ben) or a guy in a suit carrying an umbrella with a "stiff upper lip".
To our right is Europe, which we are also a part of (one can be partying at Aiya Napa in the evening and be back in the UK with ample time for their morning cornflakes).
I live here, (home is where the heart is).
We have a varied architectural and natural landscape.
London is one of the best cities in the world, no other place I've been to has the mix of people, places and culture.
Ridicously rich culture.
The UK is fairly liberal and tolerant.
Parts of the UK has beautiful countryside (England, Scotland...exc Wales and NI).
Our justice system is reasonably fair and things like legal aid are easy to get hold of.
The longest pier in the world is here.
There's always a second option when you are in trouble with matters like debt, no job etc.
The music scene can be pretty diverse (keep that rap rubbish and countryside music to yourselves).

Cons:

The weather (well to some).
Brits can come across a tad grumpy and brusk to outsiders.
Open spaces are few and far between (i need my space).
Public transport doen't flow (here the car is King).
The current government (Tony #@*&% Blair).
House prices.
Everyone moans, yet carries on mining a tunnel in their own direction.
Scallies & Scousers.

Goshhhhh after listening to all this, no one in his/her right frame of mind, wud move to UK.

I can’t stand the brit accent, loud and annoying.
Over-crowded
Tiny small houses to live
Tiny little, manual cars to drive, that too on the wrong side of the road, lol
All u hear in the street is “issue”
Food is awful, orange and mehroon chicken curry (listed as UK’s national food) with mewaahs in it
They don’t let go any opportunity to snub America, but yet their Prime Minister awaits an ok from goergee for everything!
Plus they still have that Colonial Masters’ mentality …

I better stop or I’ll fill pages and pages, with all cons, and no pro!
