I find it interesting that people with no religious values at all like to prove that others are like them. Imran Khan cames from a social strata that has no religious values. That is not the same for 99% of the population that can barely feed its own families. Imran Khan's article is as representative of Pakistan as GS is representative of Pakistan.

He is definitley an inspiration for many..Anyone who is going to private schools in Lahore, Karachi or other big cities in Pakistan can very easily relate to this article. All the poor guy is saying is we should be ‘educated’ about Islam. Nothing wrong with that.

Exactly. Not a single common man could relate to the above article. Because what is defined as “educated” for the private school elite and what is "educated for the average muslim are two different things.

The minority who can relate if they were really 'educated' about Islam, they wouldn't be in an inferiority complex or blindly following the west. Pakistan needs these elites to understand Islam and portray a positive image. That's one way of spreading the word.

As religions become older(and outdated), the new generations start questioning it, and refining it to suit their current lives..
Same thing happened with Christianity (Catholics & then also Protestants), in Hinduism ( Sanatm Dharm & also nowdays Arya Samaji's) All this is healthy.

My last Imam, a gora who wore shalwar Kameez and an Imamah, went to jail for seven years on drug selling charges...Five years later, he's a out on good behaviour with a two foot long beard, speaking Arabic and a highly sought after and knowledgable speaker...
Does his past nullify his Iman and knowledge?

We judge a person’s character by the knowledge he possesses and how he gives it out…
No one can act it, fake it, twist it, ad lib it or get by with it…
It comes from the spirit and manifests itself in other people’s hearts…People preaching Islam without knowledge and its love can be known from miles away…

Of course people can fake it, twist it and ad lib it. They do it every day - here on gupshup, people you meet on the street and in the caves of Afghanistan/Pakistan.
