In defense of being ABCD

Re: In defense of being ABCD

The way I look at it is that this is a problem with the media. This crap will happen...and so long as it happens outside of the public eye, I don't care about it. Ignorance IS bliss...

What bugs me is here we have this reporter (and let's not kid ourselves...the media influences, it doesn't reflect) thinking this is a good thing...screw that. That's nothing short of contempt of the laws of the land and the traditions of the people...you wanna advocate that crap, get out.

Now I know people who read this are going to bring up the classical retort, what-if Western governments curb religious freedoms, etc. So be it, it's well within their right to...the fact that there is this much freedom is done as no favour to me...and it's not as if a traditionally religious person is willing to participate in politics or enter the secular judiciary (for example), nor are secular socities even willing to put up with anything remotely Islamic that contradicts Western norms...too bad for us. That's something we have to live with. Why is this attitude not reciprocated in the east with respect to Islamic norms? Why do we have to tolerate, AND emulate? This stupidity we have to overcome...

As for the Baseeji, I don't think we need a special branch of police...just good ol fashioned police that ENFORCE the freaking law.

Pakistanis are just too passive about their own society...and they call us confused...
