The difference between MQM and TTP is that you can negotiate with MQM. As far as I know they have denounced the violence aspect to a large extent and moving in the right direction. Not that they have become angels.. they have to go a long way to become completely non-violent… but there is a hope. Already a lot of my Karachi friends testify that MQM is not the major bhatta collector now in Karachi. MQM have made some attempt to isolate violent chapters from their organization..
With religious extremist you can not negotiate. The extreme hardcore fundamentalist believe people who go mazars are committing shirk.. either their musluk should be forced changed or they must be killed. For a large number of mazar going Pakistanis.. it’s a part of their religious rituals. How do you negotiate with the killers of mazar goers.. you can only reduce the capability of these religious extremist to carry out these violent attacks by dismantling their organizations by prosecuting their top leadership and dismantling their madrassas where they preach such mentality.
