Aamir Sohail argues that Imran’s (Australian) model of 6-8 regional teams is fine in principle but it only works in rich countries with rich boards. Not everyone is so lucky to have had a privileged upbringing like IK. He argues that many low-paid cricketers (who will never make it to the national team but are still good enough to earn their bread and butter from domestic cricket) who depend on banks/departments for their livelihood w’d then lose out. You only really start making good money in Pakistan once you become a national cricketer (sponsorship, county deals etc.). Domestic salaries should be higher if anything
I don’t agree with Sohail. You could always run two divisions side by side. Division 1 (Imran’s model comprising of real talent concentrated in 6-8 regional teams) + division 2 for lesser cricketers supported by various banks/departments
