I hope this is just a general question and not a personal one because this isn’t the first time you’ve asked this. Giving space and time is important, but like other things, it has its limits as well. Of course it can also depend upon the gravity of the mistake too. If the person wants to break the friendship…then move on. Would you really have had a pleasant friendship with someone who is not interested in one? What would you gain from that? If anything…such a relationship would hurt you even more. Have some respect for yourself and move on.
