I agree with the balance thing, assuming we're not going for a strictly literal definition and talking more along the lines of working out the right formula for oneself; some of us need more willpower than others. It's a good thing to know how to say no to yourself.

Inspiron, the food thing is interesting. I think, in a way, we do ourselves a great disservice by thinking about it in terms of gratification. The act of eating shouldn't be entrenched in guilt.
