Please provide full facts of that cricketing event and post match analysis and commentary in order to avoid distorting facts, because half truth is more dangerous than a lie sometimes.
I remember Miandad's statement in Crickter and Akhbar-e-Watan magazines back then, where he said that he had his eyes on Sobers record, however, given the situation, if Imran had not declared the innings, there was a strong possibility Pakistan would not have won the match and India may have drawn that match. Win was way more important than allowing Javed to continue batting and finish his tripple century or possibly go for breaking Sobers record. Imran has mentioned that countless times on several occassions. Anyone who has understanding of cricketing strategy and game plan would understand this.
