Ignorance is NOT a Bliss - 'kaffiyeh' scarf & dunkin donut [MERGED]

while the title is changed due to the merging to accomodate the thoughts of both of the thread openers, your reply actually “Ka-chu-marized” the contents of the thread - which is rather a significant crime as opposed to the theory of necessity in case of title

Re: Ignorance is NOT a Bliss - 'kaffiyeh' scarf & dunkin donut [MERGED]

Sarcastic.....hmm ok

Most Americans would agree that that kaffiyeh is a terrorist's garment. Sad but true.

…i dont waste my and others time
first if i know its not more than “dewaar per sir marna”
second not creating any difference
and third stopping experimentation

Most Americans wouldn't know what the hell a kaffiyeh is nor would most Americans relate it to a terrorist's garment hence the mockery this story has received since it came out. Malkin is a racist fear mongering idiot.

So, why did Dunkin Donuts take the commercial off?

Re: Ignorance is NOT a Bliss - 'kaffiyeh' scarf & dunkin donut [MERGED]

There job is to sell donuts and coffee not to be a political story but with that said by pulling the ad it gave the story some life which was destine to die with no fanfare. By doing so they (Dunkin Donuts) put their name in hundreds of newspapers & blogs around the world, not a bad marketing move ehh?

isn't this the american way of making mone at the expense of others. at time by waging illegal wars...selling weapons to war lords...supporting dictatorships and then destroying the whole ocuntries to make more money. dunkin donuts did nothing different. i won't be surprised if this ad and use of kaffiyeh was not a calculated risk taken by them to boost their sales and image. like you said...marketing move...but at the expense of others...labelling a whole region as terrorists. as if the only angels left in this universe are the trigger-happy, blood thursty israelis.

Re: Ignorance is NOT a Bliss - 'kaffiyeh' scarf & dunkin donut [MERGED]

I agree America has/had some policies that go directly against it's values. We need to place polices in effect that match the words we speak about freedom, equality, and justice. Over the past 8 years the U.S. has strayed from them more so than before and that needs to change. There will be times when there seems to be no good polices to choose from and the choice America makes on the surface may not seem to stand in line with it's values, with Gods help those times will be limited.

I think we've all learned it's not up to America to create a new world order but rather it's up to the people of the world to create the order. But it is Americas responsibility, per it's status on the world stage today, to lead by example with the values we hold dear. Doing so and the people of the world will willingly choose to side with America, they will choose freedom, equality, and justice. Hopefully we will get there sooner than later.

As far as Dunkin is concerned I would express your concerns with them, it's your right and your complaint is justified.
