If you want a train on your bridal gown

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

^That is pretty!

Loop or no loop, you'll look ridiculous walking around in a bridal jora with a train at someone else's wedding. That's just plain tacky.

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

I don't think that's true, I see no harm in wearing it to a close family member's wedding, obviously I don't think anyone would be stupid or callous enough to wear their bridal outfit on the day of the wedding to outdo the bride, but they can be worn on other events.

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

^with a train? that's impossible. you can't really walk around without people tripping and stepping over your dress. a gharara as it is requires so much attention in terms of walking around, especially when you're at a big wedding or in line for food, imagine if you had to do all of that with a train attached to your dress.

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

^hence the loop so its not in your's or people's way.

It's still beyond tacky and in incredibly poor taste. I'd be mortified if any guest (relative or not) showed up at my wedding in her wedding dress with a 4 foot long train...even if she had it bustled or looped around her hand. Honestly, its like you're not even trying to hide the fact that you just want to steal focus from the bride.

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

Even if someone's not trying to steal the focus away from the bride, it still looks weird, and so uncomfortable to wear. It's like a guy showing up at a wedding in clothes he himself wore as a groom- his sherwani, shoes and turban.

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

my bridal outfit has a HUGEE trail at the bac
its like 3.5 to 4 feet long :D
mum wanted it longer.. to mke it look royal.. but it was getting WAYY to xpensive..lol coz of all da kaam n all
but for my height i think its perfect.. coz iam 5.7 :D

All my cousins/bro wore their wedding shervani's minus the turban at my wedding and it looked fantastic, and in no way did they steal my husbands limelight. All the new brides in my family wore their wedding outfits in my mehndi again it looked stunning and really added to the colour of the event. I'm glad everyone got to make use of their outfits again, and made the pictures really vibrant, I still looked like the bride, and my husband the groom.

I guess that highlights how inscure you are. As I said I'm not talking about wearing it on the wedding day, I was referring to a smaller/different function. Even if your wear your wedding outfit you really have to make a conceited effort to steal the focus, which would entail all the wedding gold, duppata setting, wedding make up and pulling up a chair by the stage.

There's a difference between insecurity and good taste.

pictures of train/trail??? with the the ones, u can remove....

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

Haven't seen removable train/trails in desi outfits but there are plenty of Western bridals that have them. Do you want to see those?

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

I wouldn't mind one but I'm too clumsy and knowing my luck my dog would prob poo on it or something..

There's nothing wrong with wearing your own wedding dress or men wearing their sherwanis.. what might look really odd is a bride showing up with a long train in her dress, and a guy with a turban on.

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

So, lehngas with long trains and farshis cannot be re-worn. But, that would a complete waste of gorgeous, expensive outfits. :(

Re: If you want a train on your bridal gown

^ u can try getting it fixed by the designer or da place u got it from..
like for me....after wearing if.. im taking bac to da place i got it from..n dey r gonna fix it for me :D
