MQM would never prefer to kill their own, same can be said for others. Every party wants their parties/supporters to grow in numbers. They prioritize. MQM targets Afghani/Pathans, Balouchis, Punjabi and Sindhis. While ANP targets Mahajirs, Punjabis. PPP targets MQM mostly.
Mistakes are meant to be made though. Especially Jub shaitaan aap pey haawi hotaa hai, achaay achaay dimaag kaam kurna chorr detey hain.
