Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
You guys are upto your same old cheap tricks. Imran Khan never said that he would win the election (watch his Nov. 9 interview with Hamid Mir on Capital Talk). This is just nothing but bull and cheap propaganda by his haters. He however expects his party to win more seats this time. He expects to inshallah get 100,000 votes in Mianwali despite the grand-scale rigging.** Just to give you a flavour of the scale of rigging by ISI in 2002 election*, **Imran got 64,000 votes despite there only being 61,000 registered voters in Mianwali at the time*!
So the Mianwali vote was rigged in favour of Imran? Thanks to the ISI. Is that what you are saying?
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
Yes Sheikh Rashid himself admitted (Capital Talk!) that they tried their best to stop Imran winning his seat even from Mianwali but quite obviously they could n't and the scale of rigging got beyond a joke.

Huh, you're making no sense at all I'm afraid. Usually when you rig elections, you give your favourite more votes than he actually polls freely. Your summary of the vote tallies indicates that the ISI favoured Imran by giving him more votes than he got. That's what you're saying.
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
You mean they had apparently used this trick, that didn’t work, to stop Imran from winning the election.
The January parliamentary race, like most Pakistani elections under military rule, will likely be rigged by the Army and intelligence agencies. EU observers called the 2002 presidential election “deeply flawed,” and during the five decades I’ve covered Pakistan, I’ve witnessed repeated cases of intimidation of opposition figures. The country’s Election Commission, appointed by President Pervez Musharraf, has already made an outlandish attempt to cook the books this year. In 2002, 71.8 million voters registered to vote. With the population growing at 2.7 percent a year and a voting age of 18, the number should have increased to about 82 million this time. Yet when the electoral lists were announced five months ago, they included just 55 million, and Bhutto alleges many of the “lost” voters were women, her strongest supporters. The maneuver was ultimately blocked by a court order and U.S. pressure, and last week the commission published new lists including 80 million Pakistanis. But further shenanigans seem likely; a Pakistani daily, Dawn, has reported on tricks already underway including the use of “ghost polling booths” to misdirect voters.

You did not get it. They obviously got it wrong somehow and that's the joke.

No I am getting it. The joker I'm afraid is Imran who has election after election made claims about winning a majority, and ended up only winning 1 seat, and that under Musharraf, a leader whom he adored for so many years. It appears it is true that Musharraf threw him a bone, and let him "win" Mianwali as services rendered since Oct 99.
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
Relax guys. I will still support him even if he won no seats this time. I will always support Immi because despite his flaws he is atleast honest (moneywise) and not corrupt.
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
waisey Immi bhai kee bateen sun ker aur political maneuvers daikh ker eik hee song yaad aata hai
tum sa koi peyara koi masoom nahi hai
kia cheez ho tum, khud tumheen maloon nahi hai
Lakhoon haain mager tum sa yahaan koi nahi hai
kia cheez ho tum khud tumheen maloon nahi hai
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
That's true though. If Imran was in the good books of the establishment and ISI, there is n't much any party or anyone could do about the result. That's the sad reality of 'free and fair' elections in Pakistan
Imran could conceivably take part in two (not that I seriously think he would) back-to-back elections. He has dual nationality and would easily win his seat from Bradford or Birmingham etc., areas with strong Pakistani communities. Most people are expecting Brown to call elections around April/May time
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
If he is really very popular (and he is ) and people are willing to vote for him, then it is true that he will win the polls as there could not be mass rigging in any poll. No polls in Pakistan were mass rigged except the 1990 and 1997 elections.
Re: I will win the elections even if they are rigged: Imran Khan
Atleast he can win a genuine election if held today....your dictator master can win only if the elections are massively rigged>>>>
They did it in 2002, they will have to do 10 times in 2008....let's see how many people in the world can buy his drama>>>
*Bahi mere, even a genuine election held today, and their is no candidate except imran. Still he can't win more then one seat. Its called ground reality. Web is far far away from ground. *
