Okay, I’m still not sure what to do, but I do have a gift card to Nordstrom and I’ll probably get something from there. Here are some that I like and are within the price range I’d like to maintain:

I like this one, the cut and style of it. However, this color is kinda trendy and more prom-ish. It’s a gorgeous color but if you want something you can wear over and over, get a black or gold, that u can change up with the right shoes and accessories.

lifeless: The problem is that they never have my size in stock. I went to the local Nordstrom and the selection was pretty bad. I don’t mind ordering online and then returning.
Sara516: I think you’re right about the prom feel of the teal. I had the same concern. Black I’m not sure about because of the mixed reviews I’ve gotten about black at weddings. Gold I think could be ok, though a bit dull.
Okay, so I’m no longer going with Nordstrom as we’ve used the gift card for my hubby’s new suit. Now I can get the dress from anywhere

You can wear black at weddings nowadays, I think it's a bigger no-no if you're one of the main guests.
Try a nice simple black (or any other colour) wrap dress, and dress it up with some pretty jewellery and a nice shrug or shawl.
