Girl…when my mom went to Pakistan 2 years ago to attend my cousin’s wedding…we ate mostly restaurant food for several days. We had Italian food from Olive Garden, Chinese food, pizza, Mexican food, and desi food. It was fun in the beginning…BUT it got OLD pretty quickly! Restaurant food is so yummy and I never thought I’d get tired of it…but believe me…you CAN and WILL get tired of it. I missed my mom’s cooking so much…that all I wanted was good ole simple homemade DAAL! And when my mom and dad came back…ALHUMDOLILLAH they arrived in the afternoon…one of the first things my mom did when she came back…upon unanimous request…was make DAAL.
It was so funny!

RV…Don’t tell me that you can’t cook Daal. Even i can cook Daal, and everytime when my mom wants to punish me, she tells me to go and cook Daal…now, I’m the Daal expert…

My mom made me stand on one leg and 'she me cooked all these daals at the same time.
This was when I slept over my friends home and when I got back home, all I saw was daal, everywhere, I cooked & cooked & cooked till I fainted…after that…the worst part…I had to eat what I cooked
