I Did a Glycolic Acid Peel Last Night and now...HELP!!!

Re: I Did a Glycolic Acid Peel Last Night and now…HELP!!!

If I were you, I’d alternate with glycolic and lactic (which is what I actually do!).

Glycolic will help with preventing fine lines, keep skin tone even etc. But…lactic will give you that “brightening” look more than glycolic (note: b/c of this, please be sure to do this on your neck too). This is why I use both. I use lactic for “maintenance” and plus to help brighten my skin. But glycolic is meant to help me age gracefully.

Oh and if you’re serious about aging gracefully (ie. preventing wrinkles or at least keeping them to a very minimum)…you should also look into using Retin A (of course, always wear sunscreen when going out…this is the biggest thing that damages our skin).

I believe in the value of a dollar too but not when it comes to something I can very easily do myself and something that needs to be done in a regular basis to see results (ie. you can’t do chemical peels once every few months and expect consistent, long-term results). Just like good diet and exercise, proper skin care is also a way of life. Besides, for $100…I can go get a full body hour long massage, mani/pedi, and brow threading! And for me personally, that massage feels much better than a chemical peel.

Before you go spend $$…consider giving lactic a try at home (40% or 50% would be a good start). This is super gentle and will not require downtime…and $20 for a 1/2 oz bottle that’ll give you 8-10 peels, if not more…you don’t have much to lose. And it’s something you can do once a week or once every 2 weeks at home, without having to pay $100.
