The test series would be a lot different if there was no Warne. Plus, Warne don't play in ODI's. WC is for ODI's.

World Cup: does it set new standards for the team who win's the WC, or like M. Yousef said few days back: The team out of 2 which plays better cricket that day win the WC? and he said that there are other more important things such as series before the world cup; England series and South African series, and Dravid's interview at cricinfo regarding WC on the similar tones suggest that for now they just want to down play the euphoria of WC for a while.
All teams have pretty good chances, if ICC ranking (ODI) per say is the standard then we all know which teams are in the run for the contest and who is the defending the world cup. but this will change with so much cricket to be played before the WC itself.
