Khan Sahib - Many many thanks for the answers. I have wanted to visit Ireland for some time now, heard so much about it.

I haven’t visited Kalam or Swat, but my father used to tell me about the beauty of Swat. Your pictures remind me of a wonderful little province on the eastern coast of Canada - Nova Scotia, which has a bit of a connection with Scotland since “Nova Scotia” itself means “New Scotland”. I think it was during the mid-1600s that Scottish immigrants migrated to Nova Scotia and you will still find some of their descendants living there today. Many many thanks again for sharing the lovely pictures

and a big thanks to letting us know the pronounciation of edinburgh..actually where i live everyone calls it edinberg..so i always said edinberg..i thought that you were gone khan_sahib for a long time..so i explored a lot on my own..and all the three regions of scotland seemed unique..

Every place on this earth is so beautiful that its hard to pick a place for travelling.. Nadia, i have to agree that Nova Scotia is beautiful too..(just have done some virtual tours)..and yeah khan_sahib apnay sawat aur kalam ki kia baat hay..every province is masha-allah unique when it comes to nature gifts..

To be honest, I am slightly biased in praising Nova Scotia since I lived there for four years, longer than I have lived anywhere else. But it is a beautiful place. One of the aspects it doesn’t have, though, are stunning castles - Scotland’s castles look simply gorgeous, especially Dunnottar Castle (which is in one of the pics by Khan Sahib). Just breathtaking. It’s one of the most beautiful by-the-ocean images that I have ever seen.

Yeah khan_sahib there are few other edinburgh in the world too..but i was talking about scotland’s one..today i read one more pron. for it too..it said edinborrow for edinburgh..

I had this feeling that someone would ask about a “typical desi” when I was writing this and issi wajah say hamaray paooN jaltay heiN. A great example of that would be my cousin sahib who thinks that it would be waste of money if we didn’t capture our thobRa in the pic.

oh, thanks khan_sahib for posting more pictures..they are great!! i know that they divide scotland in many regions but what i read once for easy classification they wrote on a website : *Scotland is divided into three main regions; the Highlands, the Midland Valley and the Southern Uplands. *

i can co-relate to your cousin on picture thing..coz i have people in my family that are like that...on the other hand i prefer just taking natural pictures..sure there are postcards per apnay kam ka maza hi kuch aur hai..

btw, can i share my collection of scotland too.

I didn't know that maybe they have divided it into sections to make it more understandable. My favourite area is Highlands and the West Coast. Highlands is where most of the "Braveheart" type people ran away after invasion from the English and they are considered as true Scots. Southerners near Edinburgh are often referred as the half English people. Glasgow in the south west is densely populated area. Most Asians live in Glasgow city.

You are most welcome to share your pics. I am regretting now that I should have called this thread SCOTLAND. khair, people can still search for scotland can find these pics.
