Its not sunnis or shia's in Pakistan, its your friends who wanted to take advantage of situation. Pakistan or Sub-continent had mixed population of Shia and Sunni muslims from long time why suddenly after 1980's they started to kill each other.
Don't remember the number of agencies which were operating in pakistan at that time. They took advantage of differences at that time and still doing that.

Now we're talking. shutting down saudi sponsored madressah would be a start. I'll tell yer about a sunni in our pre-dominantly shia pind, (well there are quite a few) he grew up praying in our mosque, attending our programmes and social events, eating from our houses etc. This boy grew a lil an his parents sent him to a madressah. He returned some years later, only to be loaded with a whole new outlook an strange concepts. Now, him an his whole clan have this new found attitude towards everyone around them an refuse to attend our gatherings. Its sad really, cuz they've isolated themselves pretty bad.

Anyway, the point of the story was, we need to either reach out to them or abolish these madressahs altogther. Also, we're strong in the media aspect. you know the average paindu wont have money for education, but will def. have a tv/radio in his living room. We cud use the media to counter act the bs more effectively. Also, imo vetted (shia & sunni) madressahs and education are the key. De-educating aalims and zaakirs shud also be high on the agenda. Now the trouble is, we've got the ideas, where the hell do we go from here?

All those Marassaha sponsered by Saudies, Iranis and our friends (provided a lot of money to win against USSR). Now they are being provided more funds on the name of modernisation.................

So you can not take someone's bread who is living on it. Otherwise they will go back to the same routine...................

Would Ali and Ayesha had resorted to peace amongst themselves instead of waging two wars if they could see the future? (Kinda like saying that hey, let’s not fight for the sake of our next generation shias and sunis or else they’re gonna kill eachother and might set ablaze a KFC or two in the process).

Even if the two wars or the Karbala incident had not happened, were there still going to be roits just 'cause suicide bombing is an in thing these days?

These were the incidents that happened in the history with the permission of ALLAH:swt: to guide us. These happened so that we use our brain and extract wrong from right. These happened so that we learn from mistakes. But, if free-will of us humans is steered by Shaitaan, then you will see the negative aspect of Ummah no matter what. Allah:swt: has shown us guidance through the practical aspect of histroy but He does not force us to choose the wrong path.

I’ve come to the profound conclusion that both Sunis and Shias deserve eachother. The basis is really stupid. Stupid people should fight eachother and kill eachother so that there should be less stupid people left.

I’d be happier if more and more ulma on both sides die slow and miserable deaths instead of average people who just happen to be Sunis or Shias but don’t take it to the level of actually wanting to kill the other over it.

if you really think we all get what we deserve…Pakistan got India, Shias got Sunni, Bush got Osama, Roman got Madhanee and so on. Allah mian has struck a fine balance of everything…that is how the universe works. Praise the Lord and pass the beer.

some times i think exactly like that but mostly that happens when i am very depressed and pissed at some moron of either sect.

i thought the real ulemas on both side condemned the killing and riots ,the lot that spreads the hatred is incredibly dense and ignorant, i wouldnt call em ulemas.
