think about this, a genetics company achieves the extended life span. due to high research/development costs, only very rich people can benefit from this technology... so these multi millionaire/billionaires after increasing their lifespans (will be high lighted by media) go about their daily business when they are spotted by some gang banging thugs who when spotting him/her, whisper amongst themselves.....'hey there goes that dude who gonna live too 2 hundred man'.. and suddenly 'BANG', a .45 slug shatters the skull of live long man/woman....now people are thinkin, i'd rather live out the rest of my natural life than live less than a month after this new treatment that poor guy had.
And so the technology never has a chance to prove itself and fades out.
anyway, which idiots gonna let some crazy scientist play god with his body or future children, human cloning is forbidden so how will anybody develop the technology, if it works on rats, don't mean it works for humans, i can't see any tests on humans being sanctioned by any authority (legally) and who's gonna trust computer simulation results?
