I think everyone is innocent and unique in his/her own way as a child. You are little and have no worries, and hence, you don’t know what you are doing 
Coming back to your question, I think people change with time because they gain more experience and their needs change. Today you need a toy, tomorrow you need a computer, the day after that you need a real car etc etc. As for how I was, well you can ask my mom that but I was nice Alhamdulillah 
I think some of my traits have definitely stayed (I’d be lying if I say all of them stayed) but yes, some did. As for me being better, that’s a tricky one because as a child, you are innocent and hence, are kinda clean. But as a grown up, you definitely have much more experience but at the same time, you may have done some things which you should not have where as a child, you did not. And this would apply to everyone, not just me. So yea, I don’t know if I have an answer to this part of the question.
