Re: How to welcome the Baraat?
In our family when the baraat comes...
the men go and give the grooms father... one mamoo and one chachu or taay abu a gift to welcome them...
and then all of us older girls took one younger girl.... and went to give the guys cousins and friends mithai and flower to put on their suit
the aunties went to the mother of the groom adn two aunts adn gave them a gift...
... and again us girls went to give the girls a corsage to put around their waist and also
mithaai
This was easy because everyone important from his family got soemthing.... and everyone imporant in our family got to participate
