i just find that a bit uncomfortable... its one thing if you marry into the family, you have that familiarity but with a gheyr khandaan, you never know how they'll respond. i've seen rituals/asmein like this go horribly, horribly, embarassingly wrong and i just wouldn't take the chance unless the families were both comfortable and used to such things, and generally you can find that out from general conversation with them and how well the two families gel.
