Isn't the flaw with this argument that Muslims today are nowhere near the same level of faith as Muslims back then (the amount of moral corruption even in Muslim countries testifies to this).

If Muslims are only allowed to fight when their collective faith is rock solid - that would mean Muslims today probably would not be allowed to fight. (and given what is happening in Falasteen and Lubnan these days, that clearly is not an option).

Flawed indeed. However the outcome of the battle will never be in their favor until they are believers by heart. Now if a muslim state is powerful and it wins then like I said it ws never based on faith anyway. The outcome of the Palestinian issue has always been one-sided. The people are not fighting to preserve or spread Islam but its more about land and ego. Since it is not based on their faith the powerful side has always been winning.
