Umm no. I treat my family like family. Formality is optional.
Example I sleep in when I go home, My mom irons my clothes, My dad makes me chai. I make my little brother put gas in my car and run errands for me. I steal my sister’s makeup. I don’t do that with my inlaws. They have a different place. It has a bit of formality, a bit of distance, tameez and all is good.
