^ i can understand why you are upset with comparisons to Mubarik. Truth sometimes hurt. There is a huge difference between rigged and free elections and I am sure you can understand the difference.
I hope you don't believe in "Guilty until proven otherwise".
This was the 13th presidential election in Pakistan. Can you prove that the previous elections were better as Musharraf was not a key player in all of them?
Do you think Indian es-president Abdul Kalaam got less than 90% votes?
Egypt is not a good comparison for presidential election. Try to compare such elections in similar systems. That's all!

I dont come here with fixed ideas and call names to anything I dont agree with and yes this farce of an election is no different to what Mubairk, Saddam and Assad hold in their countries.
Well in my opinion the election should have been postponed until SC had made its decison. But who cares, this was a farce election and results were already predicted.

This obviously is fixed idea to call names of Musharraf by comparing him with Arab despots.
I don't think you have lived or visited Arab countries to see their political depravity and despotism.
The other hole in your argument is that you are not comparing presidential elections system in Pakistan (the main post in this thread hint! hint!) with other countries.
In the absence of such comparison, attacks and name calling of Musharraf is just that! Name calling!

There you go, assuming is bad thing. I have lived in Saudi Arabia for 20 years. Next time don't assume. It is not the system but the methodology of his election i.e. rigging of the elections which brings him in line with such democratic leader as Mubarik, Saddam and Assad.
INDEED...he is unofficiallystands elected. And just ended one of the most thrilling fireworks (Aatishbaazi) to celebrate his election-----*right here at Clifton beachside in front of the famous KPT-GEYSER fountain of Karachi...which is stone's throw away distance from our complex *BON VISTA and I did get the opportunity to make some video as well as capturing some screen shots on my 3.2 megapixel cell phone camera..........what abeautiful sight..with thousands on bikes and cars thronging that newly developed clifton block-II area in front of our block facing Arabian Sea. Check this out;

Yes, it is fact that this “dictatorship” actually stopped the opposition-dominated NWFP assembly from being disssolved, and worked with another opposition party - the PPP-P to convince it’s members not to resign. After that it is upto these opposition members to use their democratic right to vote in the Presidential Elections or not - the govt can’t drag them to the ballot box!
The** PML Q / MQM / PPP (Sherpao) / PML (Functional) + FATA members coalition government** gave Musharraf a resounding 55% victory in the Electoral College. :k:
It was also encouraging to see parliamentarians from the BNP (Awami) and JWP in Balochistan vote for Musharraf, as well as some ANP, PTI and MMA members defy their parties calls for resignations and take part in the Presidential Election as well. :k:
As I stated earlier Musharraf not only won the votes from his coalition allies, but also members from other parties, including whose leaders had asked them to resign.
